Our practice was founded by Dr. Duane Roe, who has been in practice in Summit County for over 30 years. We provide care for conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and gall bladder.
The practice currently has five physicians and a physician’s assistant. All physicians are board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty field of gastroenterology. Our physicians have acquired additional training and expertise in the fields of Liver Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Celiac Disease, Pill Camera Endoscopy, and Gastroesophageal Reflux disease.
Our clinicians provide care both in the outpatient and hospital setting. We have offices in West Akron and Hudson. Emergent and consultative care is provided at two area hospitals (Akron City Hospital and St. Thomas Medical Center). The practice also provides indigent care to patients at the hospitals and through referrals from organizations such as Open M (Summit County Free Clinic). The practice hosts patient education classes on premises and has given guidance to local disease-based support groups.
In addition to patient care & education, the physicians participate in the education of medical students from NEOUCOM (Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine) and residents at Summa Health Systems. Our physicians have presented talks at numerous local physician education seminars. They also continue to assume leadership positions in local and national organizations involving our specialty.
